What is Evidenced?
Evidenced is an interview intelligence platform that enables businesses to run consistent and fair interviews for all candidates. Evidenced guides interviewers through interviews and ensures they capture the evidence to make an accurate and bias-free hiring decision.
Why does Evidenced record interviews?
To ensure fairness and accountability, Evidenced records and/or transcribes interviews conducted on the platform (depending on which options the company you are interviewing with has enabled). These recordings are visible to the interviewer(s) who conducted the interview and selected hiring managers at the interviewing company to provide oversight and ensure the process was conducted fairly.
Interview recording and transcription allows interviewers to keep their focus on candidates and spend less time taking notes and transcribing manually, meaning that candidates are given the interviewer’s full attention.
How is AI used?
Some companies using Evidenced have AI features enabled. If the company you're interviewing with does, Evidenced uses AI to help the interviewer capture what you said during the interview. Specifically, it will:
Note which question is being asked by the interviewer and bookmark that point in the recording, so the interviewer can revisit your answer afterwards.
Take notes and summarise your answers to each question.
Extract summarised parts of the conversation transcript and associate them with the question that was asked, so the interviewer can document objective, evidence-based assessments against the hiring criteria.
AI does not make any decision about you. It doesn't score you, rank you against other candidates, or recommend whether you should progress. Every rating is entered by a human interviewer. The interviewer can see the transcript alongside any AI-generated notes and can edit or ignore them.
The purpose is to make sure your interview is assessed on what you actually said, rather than on what the interviewer happens to remember, and that you're assessed against the same criteria as every other candidate.
The company you're interviewing with should tell you in advance if AI will be used. If you're unsure, ask them before your interview.
Is my data used to train AI?
No. Your interview recording, transcript and any AI-generated notes are used only to support the interviewer in your interview. They are not used to train, fine-tune or improve AI models, whether ours or those of any third party.
The AI providers we use are contractually prohibited from retaining your data or using it for training. You can find more detail in our Privacy Policy.
Your consent to recording, transcription and AI
Before joining every interview on Evidenced, you have the option to opt-out of recording/transcription. If the company has AI features enabled, opting out also means AI will not be used in your interview, as the AI features depend on the transcript.
When you opt-out, the interviewer will be informed that the interview is not being recorded/transcribed so they may need to take additional notes to ensure they capture enough information to make an accurate hiring decision.
You can change your mind at any point up until the end of the interview by leaving the call and rejoining without recording.
Choosing to have your interview recorded/transcribed ensures that you are given the best possible interview experience and make it easier for interviewers to document and demonstrate a fair hiring decision is made.

Your right to be forgotten
You have the right to be forgotten. When you request this, all personal data we hold on you will be permanently erased from Evidenced.
